Practiced in China for over 5,000 years, Classical Acupuncture is one of the most ancient forms of healing in the world. Acupuncture is a system of medicine based on natural laws and is used in both the restoration and maintenance of health.
Within the human body the life energy or Qi flows through a distinct network of channels. The channels have pathways somewhat like nerves and blood vessels do. Acupuncture is based on the flow of this Qi through the channels. When there is an obstruction in this energy and it is not full and flowing, illness and pain can begin.
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into one or more acupuncture points to influence the Qi, according to the nature of the point. The purpose is to regulate and restore the harmonious energetic balance of the body. As a drugless therapy with no medicinal side effects, acupuncture assists nature to restore the proper balance and flow of Qi.
Classical Acupuncture affects the whole person and does not separate the body, mind, and spirit.
